Fremont Street might be famous for its LED canopy and ziplining tourists, but walk a little further east and you’ll hit the much cooler, more laid-back Fremont East District. Here, you’ll find cocktail bars with secret entrances, speakeasies tucked behind unmarked doors, and vintage neon signs lighting up the night.

- The Laundry Room: A hidden bar behind a bookshelf inside Commonwealth. You’ll need a reservation and a password (text the number on their website).
- Corduroy: A 70s-inspired lounge with some of the best drinks in the city.
- Atomic Liquors: Vegas’s oldest freestanding bar, dating back to 1952. It’s gritty, historic, and very cool.
It’s the kind of nightlife that feels local, intimate, and far more interesting than another overpriced daiquiri on the Strip.
Red Rock Canyon Escape
Sometimes the best way to experience Vegas is to leave it, at least for a few hours. About 30 minutes west of the Strip, Red Rock Canyon offers dramatic desert landscapes, towering red cliffs, and hiking trails for all levels.
The 13-mile scenic drive alone is worth the trip, but if you’ve got time, try a hike like Calico Tanks or Ice Box Canyon. The earlier you go, the cooler the temps – and the better the photos.
This is a breath of fresh air, quite literally. It’s also proof that one of the best hidden gems of Las Vegas isn’t a bar, museum, or casino – it’s nature.

- Gold and Silver Pawn: Seen the show Pawn Stars? Then head to World Famous Gold and Silver Pawn located between Downtown and the Strip. Browse the thousands of cool and quirky items, many as seen on TV, or even try selling the Harrisons some of your treasures.

Vegas has always leaned into kitsch and glam. Here, you can take some of that home with you, without stepping inside a souvenir shop.
Visit the Mob Museum
A special note for my favorite museum in Las Vegas, dedicated to the city and country’s organized crime past. The Mob Museum is packed with thrilling artifacts from Mafia history, stories that will chill you to the bone, and cool movie props from some of the biggest mob movies of all time.
It’s situated a few blocks from Fremont Street and is a brilliant way to spend a few hours in Las Vegas.
