Think morning chai on the balcony, sunsets over the skyline, and all the sights and smells of one of the world’s most fascinating cities right outside your door. This is a dream sit for adventurous travelers who want to dig deep into Delhi’s culture while enjoying the comforts of a familiar home environment.
Prague, Czech Republic
Prague has always been on the European dream list, but a house sit here? That’s something special. This listing is for a charming one-bedroom apartment in a quiet, walkable part of the city. It’s just a short tram ride from the iconic Charles Bridge and Old Town Square.
You’ll be looking after two relaxed cats who are happy to snooze in the sun while you head out to explore the city’s cobbled streets, Gothic architecture, and riverside beer gardens. Evenings in are just as magical, with views over tiled rooftops and the soft hum of the city around you.
If you’ve been waiting for a sign to try a house sit in Europe, this could be it.
San Ramón, Nicaragua
Now here’s something different. San Ramón is a small town nestled in the lush highlands of central Nicaragua, and this sit is for a traditional Nicaraguan home surrounded by jungle views and coffee farms.
While the setting feels remote, the home itself is comfortable and well-equipped, with WiFi, modern amenities, and a strong expat community not far away. We house sat somewhere similar in Costa Rica, and it was an unforgettable experience.
The star of this sit is a friendly rescue dog who adores company, morning walks, and lounging on the porch. During downtime, you can explore cloud forests, swim in natural springs, or soak up the tranquil rhythms of rural life. If you’ve been dreaming of slowing things down, this amazing house sit offers just that.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Dubai might be known for its glittering skyline and over-the-top luxury, but it turns out you don’t need to book a five-star resort to enjoy it. This sit is in a stunning high-rise apartment with panoramic views, access to a pool and gym, and all the perks of resort-style living.
The apartment is bright and modern, with all the high-tech comforts you’d expect. House sitting placements such as this offer a great and secure base for exploring new and far-off lands. We enjoyed having an apartment like this for our first trip to Vietnam a few years back.
Your housemate? One very pampered indoor cat who enjoys window perching, chin scratches, and a calm companion while her owners are away. Located near key attractions like the Dubai Marina and JBR Beach, this house sit is perfect for travelers who want to experience the UAE without the hotel price tag.
Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt
For a sun-drenched adventure by the Red Sea, this house sit in Sharm el-Sheik ticks all the boxes. The property is a recently refurbished home in a friendly residential neighborhood, just minutes from the beach. This is one of the most unexpectedly amazing house sitting locations we’ve seen in a long time.
Inside, it’s light, airy, and tastefully decorated with local touches. The hosts describe it as “ideal for snorkelers and ocean lovers,” and it’s easy to see why. This is one we almost applied for, unfortunately, the costs of flights from our previous destination put it out of contention for us this time.
You’ll be caring for a sweet small dog and one easygoing cat—both used to having travelers around. In your downtime, expect coral reefs, camel rides, open-air markets, and some of the best snorkeling and diving spots in the world.
